Many of our electronic resources can be accessed off-campus by current Wartburg students, faculty, and staff. On our homepage, go to the Databases link and then click the link in the list for your preferred database. If the database requires a login, enter your Wartburg credentials.

If you have issues, there are several possibilities.

  1. Double check that you are typing your password correctly and you do not have caps lock on. You could also try logging in to your email account to see if there is an issue with your account. Passwords do expire occasionally. If this happens, contact ITS.
  2. You can also check if your browser is blocking our proxy's cookies. You may need to change a setting in your browser to allow cookies.
    • Chrome

Click on More (three vertical dots) > Settings > Show Advanced Settings (if not shown) > Privacy > Content Settings.

In the Cookies section, select "Allow local data to be set."

      Click OK to save changes.

The "Always allow," "Accept third party cookies: Always," and "Accept All Cookies" will let all websites, third parties, and advertisers store cookies and other data on your computer.

    • Safari

Choose Safari > Preferences, click Privacy, then select "Always allow"

    • Firefox

Menu > Options > Privacy > History > Select "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history."

"Accept cookies from sites" should be check marked.

"Accept third party cookies" should be set to "Always."

    • Internet Explorer

Tools (gear icon) > Internet options > Privacy tab

Set to "Medium," "Low," or "Accept All Cookies."

    • Microsoft Edge

Click the 3 dots in the top right > Select Settings > Select Cookies and site permissions > Select Manage and delete cookies and site data.

Ensure the toggle for Allow sites to save and read cookies is on.

Ensure the toggle for block third-party cookies is off.

  3. Another possibility is you may have a firewall that is blocking our sites. For pre-installed firewall programs on Apple and Windows machines, see the links below for instructions. For any other security programs, please look at the settings for options to add exceptions.
    • Library related links to create exceptions for:

  4. Be sure to always use the links provided by Vogel Library to access databases. If a link doesn't work from elsewhere online (even in a Canvas course), visit our A-Z list and find the database to get the correct link.

If you still encounter problems, please contact the library.
